Application Development Methodology

Computech has over the years evolved a robust and proven application development methodology for developing and maintaining software applications. The methodology is developed adopting principles of Rational Unified Process and our Quality Management System, certified for ISO 9001:2000 and appraised at SEI - CMMI Maturity Level.


Computech works to understand our customer’s business problem and defines the appropriate requirements for the desired solution.  We use several requirement gathering techniques including, brain storming, expert interviews, questionnaires, and benchmarking which are adopted to gain insight into the customers business needs. Computech facilitates the creation of comprehensive plans for moving forward that are based on customer’s business goals addressing the following areas.

During Design, the emphasis is laid on usability/user interface, content, data, and functional elements of the application. In this Phase, a high-level, structural view of the application is designed which focuses on determining the content and functionality necessary to meet the business requirements. Computech’s technical team will create the detailed application design and address support and maintenance requirements, resulting hardware/server/database impact, and overall performance and cost issues.
An acceptance test plan is developed as part of the technical design that thoroughly outlines the testing procedures for the system prior to deployment.


Following the approval of application design specifications, Computech architects and programmers begin coding  the application. This includes:

  • Templates/Graphics Creation
  • Content Publishing
  • Module Coding
  • Application Integration


At this stage testing and evaluation is performed using combination of manual and automation methods and technologies. Testing is done to ensure that information update to each and every screen or module of the application is handled accurately and efficiently.
Computech conducts the following tests to ensure that the final product is a bug free, warranted product that performs at optimum levels.

Final deployment of the application includes setup and testing of all application components at the customer’s facility.  At this time, any required training on the application’s use and operation is deployed as well. Our acceptance procedures include: performance testing services that encompass areview of the architecture, predictive modeling, stress testing and detailed analysis and recommendations.

Following the successfully deployment of the Application, Computech can provide application maintenance, with Onsite, Offsite, Offshore or a combination of these engagement models. The scope of the maintenance phase is determined jointly with the customer and may encompass the following:

  • Bug Fixes
  • Application Enhancements
  • Application Testing
